A new journal paper has been published! Titled "Deep Learning-Based Applications in Metal Additive Manufacturing Processes: Challenges and Opportunities," in the International Journal of Lightweight Materials and Manufacture . The paper is available as Open Access in
International Journal of Lightweight Materials and Manufacture.
Additionally, two peer-reviwed conference papers have been presented: "Deep learning for defect classification in fused filament fabrication," and "Deep learning for meltpool classification in laser powder bed fusion" in the 11th Manufacturing Engineering Society International Conference, 18-20 June 2025, Bilbao, Spain.

A new journal paper has been published! The paper, titled "An experimental process parameter study on the identification of defects in additively fabricated Al6061 with laser powder bed fusion," is co-authored with collaborators from University of South Carolina and Savannah River National Lab. It is available as Open Access in Materials Science in Additive Manufacturing.
News- Fall 2024:
Professor Özel presented MARLAB research at the ASTM's Internationational Conference on Advanced Manufacturing- ICAM2024. The invited plenary presentation was given on "Physics-Informed and Data-Driven Digital Twinning for Fusion-Based Metal Additive Manufacturing" on November 1, 2024 in Atlanta, GA, USA.
Fall 2023 News: ∎ Prof. Özel presented MARLAB research at the ASTM's Internationational Conference on Advanced Manufacturing- ICAM2023. The presentations were given on "Physics-Informed Digital Twin Framework for Microstructure Tailoring in Laser Powder Bed Fusion" October 31, 2023 and "Physics-Informed Deep Learning of Meltpool Conditions in Laser Powder Bed Fusion" November 2, 2023 in Washington, DC, USA.
