        Dr. Basily B. Basily is a Research Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Rutgers University. He is also a Professor in Mechanical Design, and Production Department, Cairo University. His research interests are in the areas of experimental stress analysis, elasticity and plasticity, metal forming and machine design. He is the author of five international patents, and twenty-four publications in the above areas of interest. Prof. Basily has been involved in various activities in design applications and consultant work, where he;
• Designed an Augmented Torque Cropping Tool Set, for cold shearing of metal bars at much reduced cropping loads, and high quality sheared surface.
• Designed and built An Axially Compact Load Cell, the unit has 270% higher sensitivity compared with conventional ones, and can be designed to meet given load and space requirement.
• Design an built a Machine for Production of Polymer Washers, by high speed cropping, the unit is capable of producing washers, used as screw retainers, at a rate of 3.6 million washer/shift.
• Design and built An Automatic Case Compacting Machine for Production of Electromagnetic Ballast, the unit performs all casing folding operation, and ballast in/out feeding automatically.
• Design and built a New Manufacturing Technique Machine, for production of “Size Labeled Plastic Clip”, used in garment industry, at a high production rate of 100,000 pieces/shift.
• Design and built a Novel Machine for Automatic Packing of Sweetened Tobacco, the unit uses a new technique for packing such sticky fibers material, that was only packed manually.
• Designed the Main Frame with Integrated Mobile Operating Table for Shock Wave kidney Litho-tripter Unit.
