Our Experience and Future Direction
Experience:
Be very careful when choosing cluster vendors. We had good experience with
Microway and extremely bad one with Aspen, including the
quality of the parts, assembly, and tech support.
Educate users about the cluster and SGE commands.
Integration of Parallel applications with SGE.
NFS is not great for Parallel HPC.
Future Directions:
Implement High Performance File system, such as
Lustre
or PVFSv2.
Migrate the cluster from RH 7.3 to Debian.
