If you need to take an extended leave of absence (one semester or more) from Rutgers, you need to fill out a Withdrawal form, as long as you are leaving in 'good' academic standing (not Dismissed, not on Deferred Dismissal). If you have been Dismissed or are on Deferred Dismissal following the fall semester, make sure you are aware of the 'Academic Dismissal' notation that will be placed on your transcript as well as the necessary steps to be taken in order to be readmitted.

Once you will out a Withdrawal form and have it signed by a Dean in B100, you must take the form to the Financial Aid Office in Records Hall on the College Avenue Campus for a signature (if you have any loans, scholarhips, etc). If you live in On-campus housing or have a meal card through Dining Services, be sure to notify them that you will not be returning to campus in the semester in question. Lastly, you must then bring the form to the Registrar for final processing (Administrative Services Bldg, Rm 200B).
