October graduates must fill out a diploma application by August 1st.
The Diploma application is found at:
.
If it is past the deadline, you must use hardcopy form. The form must be hand carried or mailed to the REGISTRAR (NOT to B100).
This form is mainly for the specific name that will appear on your diploma.
Filling out this form does not take place of verifying with Dean Prendergast in B100 that you are on track to graduate.
October graduates are automatically included in the
May graduation ceremony for the following year, where you would receive your diploma.
If you wish not to participate, you can arrange pick-up/mailing of your diploma
via the Registrar (diplomas should be available in November/December).
If you receive your diploma early, you are not eligible to
participate in May's ceremony.
Students who have any grades or transcripts submitted after September 30th will NOT
be processed as an October graduate (except for students on co-op or study abroad in the final semester).
See
January graduation.
Many October graduates are eligible to participate in the preceding May Graduation ceremony.
Special Permission to March at Commencement must be granted in order to march at the Graduation Ceremony.
In this case, the student receives an empty diploma case on stage. To the audience, it appears as though
s/he has graduated. Permission to March Applications become available in mid-March in B100.
As long as all requirements have been completed and all grades, transcripts, etc. have been received
and processed, your degree will be posted on your transcript by October 15th. At that time you can order official transcripts
(which will note your completed degree) from the Registrar. The Registrar can also provide you with
an official letter stating your graduation status. In between the time that you have finished your
requirements and Oct 15th, the Dean's office can provide you with such letter for reasons of employment,
insurance, automobile purchase, graduate school, etc. Simply provide the Dean's office with the mailing address/contact
information of the company, school, etc, and the letter will be sent out (Ex: XYZ Company, 123 Abc Street,...). Diplomas are available through the Registrar sometime during
the Fall. You should arrange pick-up/mailing of your diploma via the Registrar.
