Part-time study is an option that is available to graduate students who have other obligations such as a full-time job. A student is considered part-time if he/she is registered for 11 or fewer credits.

Part-time MS students should try to finish within 5 years of part-time study. Most programs will require 8 credits and a thesis, or 10 credits without a thesis, but a student opting for part-time status should first consult an advisor within their specific department of study.
