Sponsorship, Financing, and Budget
All of the QRE Center¡¯s activities are collaborations between university personnel and industry and government organizations. Sponsors guide the directions of the QRE Center¡¯s research and education programs. They are the bridges between academia and practical deployment of new approaches and technology.
Upon payment of the annual sponsorship fee (see Section 4.2), the sponsor shall enjoy all the privileges of membership as outlined in the Industrial Consortium Membership Agreement.
Offering an Associate Membership shall be at the sole discretion of the Center¡¯s Director. The Director may choose to offer Associate Membership to a potential sponsor who has not yet declared the intent to join but wishes to immediately participate in the Center activities.
The majority of the QRE Center funding is provided by a $30,000 annual sponsorship fee for full members and a $15,000 annual sponsorship fee for associate members. The National Science Foundation will provide $75,000 per year for the first five years of the Center¡¯s operation. Rutgers University provides cost sharing support to the Center in an amount equal to 61% of the indirect cost applicable to fees received from company members. Arizona State University provides full support for two graduate assistants at a cost of $48,900 per year. Rutgers University and Arizona State University support the Center by providing funds to acquire equipment and resources for its activities. |
