The Rutgers University Center for Advanced Food Technology, with the sponsorship of the Defense Logistics Agency, has built a 30,000 square foot, USDA approved, food manufacturing facility at Rutgers University. The facility is used for the design, development, and testing of advanced technologies in the manufacture of food. The Automation Sciences Research Group has been involved in the automation of production operations, the design and development of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) nodes for the production lines, and the design and implementation of databases and information systems.
