Continuum model and stability analysis for gas-particle fluidized beds

Fluidized beds, such as FCC and CFB, are widely used in industry for a variety of applications. The goal of my project is to provide learning and development design models to predict gas-particle flows in fluidized beds, so the need for costly experimentation at ever increasing pilot scales is reduced. Since the total number of particles present in most gas-particle flows of practical interest is extremely large, continuum model is selected to set up via averaged equations of motion. Then we analyse the stability of systems and match our computational results with experimental data.
